Ingredients
Brownies
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 oz unsweetened chocolate
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 2 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
- 1 1/2 to 3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- green or red food coloring
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons butter
Directions
Brownies
- Place the butter and the chocolate in the microwave
- Heat for 1 min.
- Stir until smooth
- Stir in other ingredients.
- Pour into 9x9 pan
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 min
- Cool the brownies
- Cream the butter and confectioners sugar
- Add the milk a little at a time
- Beat until smooth
- Add the food coloring and extract
- Frost the cooled brownies
- Chill again for 1 hour
- Melt the chocolate chips and the butter in the microwave for 1 1/2 min
- Stir until smooth
- Pour over the brownies and smooth with a knife
- Refrigerate for at least 45 min. Until topping hardens
- Bring brownies out to room temperature before cutting into squares
