Boston Cream Pie Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
1 pkg. Vanilla Instant Pudding
1-1/2 cups thawed cool whip
1 package milk chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1 pint whipping cream

PREHEAT oven to 350ºF.

Prepare cake batter and bake as directed on package in two 9-inch pans. Cool completely. Prepare pudding mix as directed on package. Let stand 5 minutes then add cool whip. Spread pudding between cake layers.

Place chocolate chips in a medium-sized bowl. In a saucepan, heat whipping cream and butter until just before it begins to boil. Pour the whipping cream over the chocolate chips and allow it to sit for about a minute to allow the chocolate chips to begin melting. Whisk until smooth. Let stand for 10-15 minutes to thicken a little. Spread the chocolate over the top of the cake.
